The American Translation Association’s Annual Conference is a game-changing event for translators and interpreters of all levels. Held this fall in Portland, Oregon, the ATA65 provided an excellent opportunity for professionals to gain useful insights, share their experiences and achieve recognition.
During the event, attendees were engaged in educational sessions and job recruitment events, while networking with colleagues. ATA conferences have helped many translators and interpreters transform their careers, which is why this event is valued by many professionals in the field. The Language Doctors (TLD), an American translation and interpretation agency, could not miss this exciting conference and was one of the participating companies this year.
After the ATA 65th Annual Conference, The Language Doctors was favorably impressed with prominent presentations and discussions on the latest trends in translation and interpretation.
The conference gathered top experts in the field, including representatives from the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and Mr. Trados from RWS. The TLD team had an excellent opportunity to connect with Geoffrey Westgate from WIPO, featuring potential future collaboration in advanced areas like AI in translation. We also had a chance to listen to Danial Brockmann’s session on AI’s impact on the industry, attended by a large audience of language professionals interested in technological advancement.
A remarkable experience for TLD was our presentation during the conference, which received positive feedback, highlighting the professional level and relevance of our topic and speech. It was amazing to notice a significant interest from conference attendees in joining The Language Doctors, which was sparked by our innovative session topics and swag items.
The conference provided an opportunity for the linguistic community to come together to share, learn and enjoy the event. From festive Halloween activities to insightful conversations, we built new connections and strengthened existing ones. We gained invaluable insights into the latest trends and needs within the translation industry and will participate in such events in the future to sustain and develop TLD’s industry standing and network.
